Representatives
Asking a family member, friend or CICSA representative to accompany you to the Hearing is not the same as asking that person to represent you. A representative is responsible for speaking on your behalf and presenting your position to the CSAC.
It is expected that most appellants will represent themselves at the Hearing. However, if you decide that you want to be represented by someone else you need to decide this before the Hearing and advise the CSAC Secretariat accordingly. You will not be given a new Hearing if you later decide that you should have been represented.
Your representative can be a lawyer or fee charging person if you so wish but any fees or other costs are your responsibility.
If you do decide to be represented it is a good idea to make that decision as soon as possible so that your representative has time to be briefed and prepare for the Hearing.
